Job Description


Job Overview:
The Plant Operator 1 processes gas cylinder and hardgood orders in preparation for the shipping department. Responsible for safety, product quality, and productivity during the work shift. Pulls, Labels, and Packs cylinders according to the router instructions, maintains organization on the production floor, moves cylinders by handjack, forklift and handcarts within the facility. Inspects and prepares high and low pressure cylinders for quality concerns, alerts management of any such concerns. Load and unload common carrier trucks and client shuttle trucks.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Pull and label gas cylinders.
Pull and label regulators, cases and other hardgoods.
Scrape labels from cylinders.
Paint and apply temperature coating to cylinders.
Perform visual Inspection on gas cylinders labels and certs and router for accuracy.
Program cylinders with RFIDs and I-cards.
Maintain the production floor in a clean and orderly manner. Stores packing and labeling materials in designated locations by part number, customer.
Perform hardgood and cylinder inventory.
Qualify to operate powerjack and perform powerjack inspection
Loading compressed gas cylinders onto and off of cylinder pallets.
Load and unload common carrier trucks and client shuttles.
Perform maintenance on cylinder labeling/programming/crimping equipment.
Keep a clean and orderly work area.
Support Management team with regard to maintenance of Health and Safety and ISO Quality programs.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Comprehension of basic math skills.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) or equivalent software.
Ability to clearly write and fill out a report in English.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, safety data sheets and procedure manuals using the English language.
Ability to read pressure and temperature indicators.
Ability to complete WBT’s with little or no assistance
Ability to move gas cylinders.
Work in a team environment and follow directions.
Ability to work all shifts; subject to all weather conditions.

Highest level of education required for this position: High school diploma or GED

Top 3 must-have skills:
Able to read and follow standard operating procedures
Must be able to work in a team environment
Must be able to be on your feet for eight hours a day
