Power BI Analyst

Summary of position:
The Power BI Analyst will work as part of the Scrum team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, documenting, and maintaining business intelligence solutions utilizing Power BI. This role involves transforming raw data into meaningful insights to support decision-making processes across the organization.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Work with business process owners to understand reporting requirements and document requests
Document requirements in an agile process utilizing a tool like Microsoft DevOps or JIRA
Document the data ingestion and transformation processes required for ETL operations
Work as part of the scrum team
Work closely with BI architect and engineering team
Ensure testing and documentation are created or updated in accordance with the client standards
Promote a continuous improvement culture and environment that encourages cooperation, open communication, teamwork and knowledge sharing
Effectively communicate and maintain productive relationships with business users, peers, and fellow development/product team members, including architects and engineers, business analysts, IT project managers, and senior management


Skills Required:
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards
Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills
Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Prior experience with Power BI

Experience Required:
One+ years of experience as a Business Intelligence or Power BI Business Analyst
Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment preferred
Strong understanding of data warehouse best practices and functionality
A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements

Gather user requirements 40%
Document user stories 20%
Document the data ingestion and transformation processes required for ETL operations 10%
Attend agile meetings (Daily stand up, Backlog Refinement, and Internal Refinement) 10%
Architectural review or requirements 5%
Support testing of new functionality 5%
Support end users and engineers in help desk tickets 10%
