wood working capabilities is a plus
Previous power tool experience (saws, etc)
Prefer SAP experience
OVERVIEW
The primary role for this position is to perform set up. Paint and prepare + package, load complete and incomplete cylinder components for shipping via rail and truck in a safe and effective manner.
This position is responsible for 1 or 2 persons 50% or more of the time me, as well as for shift changeovers.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Measures, lays-out, cuts to size, and assembles/builds specified shipping skids, crates, boxes, or containers.
Cleans and prepares railcar, trailer, etc., for loading and shipping.
Prepares and crated parts to be transported via rail or tuck, whereby incorrect set ups, adjustments, and/or incorrect use of machinery could result in moderate damages to specific parts or sections of equipment.
Normal maintenance required for electric saws and machinery, overhead crane equipment, and paint spraying equipment.
Equipment used: overhead cranes and associated lifting equipment, a variety a chains, slings, lifting beams, shackles, eye bolts, etc., hand power, and pneumatic tools, such as power band, radial, and hydraulic saws, drill press, hand saw, mallets, wrenches, tapes, scales, weld machine, etc.
Operates overhead crane and other lifting equipment for positioning apparatus on spray car, rail car, or truck.
Cleans and applies spray paint and/or preservatives to external and internal finishes on completed product.
Inspects, plans, and determines best securing techniques for apparatus: cuts, assembles, makes necessary adjustment, and secures with blockings, bandings, and rods, as required.
Sorts, inventories, and prepares for shipment detail parts applicable to turbine components.
Uses weighing devices to obtain and document loaded weight rail cars and trucks.
Maintains tools, work area, and equipment in clean and orderly fashion.
Abides by all company policies regarding safety/health rules and regulations.
Adapts to various situations and adjusts to shifting priorities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND TRAINING
High School Diploma or GED
Perform simple shop math, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, and metric conversions)
Working Environment :
Work is performed in the plant/production storage area where there is frequent exposure to outside weather elements, noise, dust, fumes and vapors, oil, Xylene and other preservatives, and grease solvents, etc., and is occasionally exposed to paint preservatives.
Frequent mental and visual attention is necessary when performing loading adjustments, using spraying and cutting equipment. Must have normal or corrected vision, hearing, and the ability to smell in order to be aware of proper operation of machinery and to detect any potential safety hazards.
Job duties are on a demand basis and require overhead crane and other lifting device procedures to be assisted by one or more employees.
Must be able to occasionally assist with the placement and blocking of product on truck, use the various saw types, lift wood pieces for crate making, etc.
Must be able to bend and stoop at the waist, crouch, sit, stretch and reach, stand, walk, rotate body, and move to various areas of the plant, and occasionally perform some duties at varying heights.
