Description :Summary:The main function of a Procurement Specialist is to oversee all aspects of procurement, working with the appropriate cross business teams to ensure that we achieve maximum synergy and leverage by aligning short and long-term category strategies. A typical Procurement Specialist is responsible for the development of the global category strategy (cost, quality, delivery, supply base etc.) in line with global Procurement strategies for a sub-category within Site Equipment.Job Responsibilities:Must have:ERP experience (1 year of experience)Ex: Sage, OracleProficient in Excel (Microsoft Suite)ProfessionalismDay to Day:reviewing open orderissuing purchase orders based on approvalCreate RequisitionsIssuing RFQs to suppliers and reviewing inventory level and restocking East and West locationsDuties & ResponsibilitiesCore tasks:Review requisition requests for accuracy and prepare purchase orders to send to suppliers/vendors.Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs and order materials when necessary.Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other issues that may arise.Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.Process RMA’s requests after received approval from Procurement Manager.Perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of purchasing, sourcing and profit margin increase.Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors.Interface with various internal departments to ensure flow of goods is efficient and achieve consistent communication.Maintain hard copy purchasing orders and electronic files alongside original purchase orders.Assist with scheduling and organization for procurement department needs.Assist department with weekly and monthly reports along with month-end proceduresAssist Sales representatives with domestic and international purchasing.Contact domestic/international manufacturers for RFQs & provide to Sales representative in a timely manner.Other duties as assigned.SKILLS REQUIREDInclude demonstrated competencies and physical, mental, & interpersonal skills.Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to operate Windows software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)Familiar with an ERP system preferably SAGEAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent organization skills with extreme attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEducation/Experience:High School Degree RequiredAssociates Degree Preferred2-3years procurement related experience required.Note :Work schedule: Flexible start 7:00-8:00am to 4:30pmVIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
