Description :Mission Statement:Under supervision, perform a variety of semi-technical assignments such as, assembly, operation and shop maintenance, laboratory equipment,instrumentation and controls, shipping and receiving. Coordinate work with other client employees to ensure customer commitments.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Shop DutiesPerform semi-technical work on development and production projects, integrating requirements with own understanding of the complete project. Construct component models,as requested.Electrical panel and cabinet construction for custom measurement systems.Conduct tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of equipment and products, and record data. May perform basic analyses to check reasonableness, prepare test reports and maintain records.Troubleshoot equipment and apply own knowledge and experience towards the solution of any problems, such as types of repairs or modifications required.Manage the inventory and perform monthly cycle counts.May work nonstandard schedules and/or at off-site locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions.Shipping DutiesUnder general supervision, prepare domestic and international shipments of materials, parts,finished goods and related items. Check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination and routings are correct.Some projects/orders will need custom crate construction.Shipping duties will include the use of a forklift for loading and unloading tractor trailers.All duties will be performed following client’s safety procedures and using the proper PPE.ChallengesUnderstanding the technical details of all the applications client Force Measurement provides to its customers.Ability to effectively communicate the value proposition of client solutions to all levels of customers’ organization.Manufacture engineered solutions to displace competitors by minimizing the amount of mechanical modifications required.Knowledge & SkillHS Diploma required.2-4 years of electrical/mechanical experience required.Good understanding of electrical schematics and ability to read mechanical drawings.Ability to use shop tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers,drill press, soldering iron, hydraulic press, cleaning solvents forklift and overhead crane operation.Ability to do prototype electrical wiring with good soldering capabilities.Computer proficiency and knowledge of PowerPoint, Word and Excel, SAP for Inventory management.Good verbal and writing ability is necessary for internal communication.Good organizational skills with multi-tasking abilityNote :TravelMaximum 10-20 days per year.OnsiteVIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
