Job Description

Description:

The client is a consortium of renowned experts who are world leaders in investigating ways to prevent disease and promote health. Their work is focused on identifying the most practical, science-based solutions for addressing some of society's most pervasive and preventable health issues, such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic conditions and to raise the standards of scientific investigation that matters for health. SPRC investigators are collaborating on numerous, long-term projects designed to translate research into effective ways to promote well-being at every stage of life.

Located within the client, the Hsing Lab focuses on well-being, cancer prevention, and Asian American health research. The Hsing Lab is seeking a self-motivated and well-organized temporary project assistant to provide clerical support for various research studies. The project assistant will be responsible for filing, photocopying, printing, scanning, performing data entry, and preparing mailings of study-related documents and materials. The project assistant will also assist with weekly drop-offs of mailings at the local United States Postal Office (USPS) Bulk Mail Office. The ideal applicant should possess excellent organizational and administrative skills and have some past clerical experience.


Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Basic computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.
One year of administrative/clerical experience preferred.
Ability to follow through and complete assigned tasks.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
High school diploma or equivalent is fine, while Bachelor’s is preferred.

Requirements:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
Frequently sitting.
Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

Notes:

 The office/building is open M-F, between 8:00-4:30pm. We can work out a schedule with each PA.

 It's a part time job around 15 to 20 hours
