Description :Project Manager - Deployment Fiber Analyst - RemoteJob SummaryCandidates will be responsible for managing the end-to-end testing of dark fiber delivery projects and the acceptance recommendation of purchased vendor network.This involves:1) Managing the core customer facing team to meet project commitments and deployment and delivery schedules2) Management of field deployment service personnel to meet project commitments3) Managing Project Schedules as dictated by the customer4) Dark Fibera) Providing critical analysis on vendor's fiber network data handover packagesb) Use of industry standard software to assist (i.e., EXFO FastReporter2)c) Build reports from the required field test data (using FastReporter2)i) OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) tracesii) CD/PMDiii) Power measurement/Span Lossiv) ORLv) Fiber End Face validation5) Leased Wave Testinga) Coordinate field teams to successful completion of testing regimenb) Coordinate vendors to enable support of field teamsc) Build test data reports and optical power value reports6) Preparing deployment testing packages for Field Engineers including:a) Network schematicsb) Scope of worksc) Test result packagesd) Site Access tickets and information7) Managing all project documentation and ensure delivery of final handover data within three days of test completion8) Interfacing and coordinating with vendors or customer support teams to provide remediation to dark fiber or leased wave issues9) Managing the regional project financials and team labour and expense accruementsStrong project management skills are a necessity for this positionRequired ExperienceKnowledge:1) Project management and strong organizational competence2) Able to understand and interpret:a) OTDR,b) CD/PMD,c) OLTS (Optical Loss Test Set) and,d) CMAX traces and files.3) Able to describe the details, structure, and layout of ISP and OSP (Outside Plant) Fiber Networks4) Advanced use experience with Fast Reporter 2 or equivalent5) Strong knowledge of ISP and OSP infrastructureCommunication:1) High level analytical skills2) Effectively present to team meetings both written and orally3) Identify issues and enact resolutions effectively4) Assist deployed teams in fiber and wave issue resolution5) Multi-task effectively and maintain project deadlines6) Interface with vendors and develop issue remediation protocolsGeneral Experience:1) Minimum 5 years' experience within a Telecom Network Infrastructure environment2) Able to use any generic office software.Desirable Skills/Experience:Technical:1) Operate typical optical fiber analysis test equipment (OTDR and CD/PMD testing, laser source/power meter (insertion loss) testing2) Understand and fully interpret Chromatic Dispersion and Polarization Mode Dispersion data3) Fully identify ISP and OSP fiber issues and provide resolution advice4) Understanding of various fiber types and their inherent characteristics5) Splicing techniques and inherent characteristics6) Understanding and has high working knowledge of EXFO Toolbox used in the analysis of fiber test data or similar software applications7) Understanding and has high working knowledge of Exfo Fast Reporter software or similar software applicationsExperience/Qualifications:1) Minimum of five years in a project management or project support capacity2) Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering subject or related technical experience3) Experience with understanding vendor contractual deliverables4) Experienced with Exfo Fast Reporter software analysis tool5) Additional languages a definite assetExperience in OTDR how to read it inside and outExtensive knowledge in OTDR and have project management.
