Description:This would cover QA Nurse/Staff Education and Infection Preventionist.Implements policies and procedures pertaining to quality assurance using guidelines such as nursing home regulations, facility practices, evidenced-based practice, complaints, audits, observation and other informational sourcesGathers and analyzes data through audits, interviews and other activities to monitor compliance of all disciplines, departments, and services with applicable policies and procedures, standards and regulationsReviews monthly CASPER (Certification and Survey Provider Enhanced Reporting) report and develops Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) based PIPs (performance improvement plans) where neededPrepares, distributes and interprets reports, statistical analyses, data summaries and other written information to facility staff pertaining to the activities of QAPIPrepares periodic reports summarizing the status of facility compliance with established goals and measures set for quality assuranceAssists supervisors /managers in developing and implementing corrective action plansMonitors and reports on facility’s plans for correcting deficiencies identified by surveying agenciesEnsures that facility meets the client and Veteran's Administration (VA) regulationsEnsures facility's policies and procedures meet regulations and are consistent with the facility’s practicesInvestigates incidents of non-complianceWorks with the Administrator in investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, and mistreatment of residentsCoordinates facility preparation for surveysChairs and coordinates internal Quality Assurance Committee meeting as well as the Infection Control Committee meetingIdentifies training needs and develops and implements educational programs for staff related to quality assurance and compliance education and re-educationUtilizes assessment and scheduling protocol to evaluate quality of training and ensure that staff is adequately trained to meet desired outcomesMaintains records to document training and compliance with regulationsCoordinates provision of Information for regulatory surveyors with Administrator and Director of NursingMap out all infections with McGeer and non-McGeer criteria to provide for timely tracking and trendingConduct infection control surveillance daily rounds to confirm compliance with individual care plans for residents with infections by facility staffKeep abreast of any current information and attend educational opportunities to assist in role such as provided by CMS and CDCKnowledge of:Principles of management and administrationFacility programs, policies and proceduresQuality assurance and utilization review principles and methodsOBRA and other pertinent nursing home regulations as they apply to quality assurance activitiesBasic statistical and data gathering techniquesBasic training interventions that may be used to develop staff skills and knowledgeVaried approaches and techniques of adult instruction consisting of measurement, assessment, and skill based competenciesSkills in:Verbal and written communicationProblem solvingAnalytical skillsAbility to:Analyze and interpret information and dataWork with all levels of organizationDevelop and coordinate training programsRequirements:Requires current license to practice in AZ as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.Infection Preventionist Certification requiredIn-state travel; valid AZ Driver's License is requiredPreferred Skills:2 Step TB TestNotes:OnsiteSchedule:The team is flexible on the schedule.Options: 7am-3pm, 8am-4pm or 8am-5pm.8hrs Monday- Friday- Varied weekends may be required.
