The Floor RN for the client is responsible for carrying out all geriatric nursing care, treatment and services in a professional and prescribed manner while providing a safe, therapeutic and hygienic environment. In this role you will be providing nursing care for infirm geriatric residents, overseeing and training staff in resident care and observing and assessing residents’ behavior and physical conditions. In the event the Geriatric Nurse II (Floor RN) is the charge nurse, you will oversee the functions of all licensed staff on the unit as well as the Certified Nursing Assistants. As an employee with the client you will learn, implement and monitor the Client Management System methods.Job Skills:Administer medication and perform treatments on an assigned unit, as ordered by the physician and within scope of licenseReceives and delivers a variety of information regarding the residents’ medical, social, functional and other needsParticipates in the receiving and giving of shift reports.Communicates with residents, family and staff as necessary to ensure the resident receives appropriate care from the interdisciplinary teamPerforms the initial admission nursing assessment on a newly admitted resident; assists with the development of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews and care plansMaintains appropriate clinical and administrative documentation regarding diagnosis, assessments, treatment and summary of client progressLeads and performs limited supervision of subordinate staff and assists as needed with direct resident care for the completion of Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, personal hygiene and mobilityConducts and participates in in-service training and staff development programs for regularly employed staff and other duties as assigned.Utilizes Client Management System concepts and tools for problem solving and continuous work/process improvements and efficiency Other duties as assigned, as related to the position.Knowledge of Gerontological/geriatric nursing theory and practicesResidents’ condition and changing medical/physical/psychological care needsEffects of the aging processPractices and procedures of team nursingPractices and procedures of developing treatment plans for resident/patient carePractices and procedures of pharmacology and medicines client laws, rules and regulations governing general professional nursing practices and the security and control of medical supplies and medications and dispensing there ofProfessional nursing methods and techniquesObserving and assessing behavior and progress of patientsApplying and interpreting client laws and regulations governing geriatric nursing practices Developing and carrying out patient care plans within a team nursing conceptEffective oral and written communicationBuilding interpersonal relationships Ability to:Learn, implement and monitor Client Management System methods, and to use Client Management System concepts and tools for problem solving and continuous work/process improvement and efficiency.Requirements:High School DiplomaActive RN License in AZNotes:OnsiteSchedule: 12hr shifts 6:00am-6:30pm must work weekends.Candidates must be available to work weekendsWill have block booking, need to follow their schedule1 week will be 36 hours and following week will be 48hours
