Job Description

Description:

Overhauling train components by removing, inspecting, replacing, and fitting parts according to work instructions, and performing maintenance on mechanical and electronic equipment. Key duties include cleaning and pre-cleaning components, operating machinery like pressure washers, using overhead cranes, and documenting work. The role involves both hands-on mechanical/electronic work and ensuring quality, safety, and continuous improvement in the repair process.

Required skills and qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in a mechanical environment is preferred.
Technical knowledge: Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, able to use basic shop tools and power tools, able to use test instruments and a level of fault-finding experience is desired.
Physical requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting (up to 40 pounds), standing, walking, and using tools.
Other: Strong documentation skills, basic computer knowledge, and forklift operation experience preferred.
Technicians will work in high-voltage test environments.

Key responsibilities
Overhaul maintenance: Execute all aspects of overhaul maintenance for train and rail vehicle components, meeting production plan requirements.
Component work: Remove, inspect, replace, and fit components in accordance with the client work instructions.
Machine operation: Operate equipment like pressure washers for pre-cleaning and work.
Material handling: Safely move components using overhead cranes and lifting devices
Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, accurately document actions and operations, and use a laptop for diagnostics and fault-finding.
Quality and safety: Foster a "Zero Harm Culture," ensure products are repaired to a high standard, and maintain workshop cleanliness and PPE requirements.
Continuous improvement: Contribute to improving repair costs, time, and quality.

Duties include:


Cleaning parts with pressure washer

Using overhead crane (training provided if needed)

Possible forklift operation (certification can be provided)

Following safety protocols and procedures



Emphasis: Common sense, ability to follow step-by-step processes

Work involves simple hydraulic tasks (low pressure), cleaning, disassembly/reassembly of parts like heat exchangers


Skills: 2+ years in a mechanical environment, ability to interpret technical specs, use of basic shop and power tools

Someone with hands-on mechanical experience, basic hydraulic knowledge, and willingness to perform cleaning and assembly tasks in a structured environment.
