Description:Risk Manager (RM)Develop and maintain the Risk Management Plan (RMP) in alignment with DOE O 413.3B, DOE G 413.3-7A, and the client’s Earned Value Management System (EVMS).Identify potential risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle using structured techniques and stakeholder input.Document risks in the Risk Register using standardized formats such as IF/THEN statements and defined triggers.Assign and update risk ownership by designating responsible individuals for managing each identified risk item.Perform qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, including probability, impact scoring, and Monte Carlo simulations as needed.Use Primavera Risk Analysis and other risk analysis tools to conduct cost and schedule impact assessments and evaluate contingency requirements.Categorize and score risks using approved risk matrices to determine severity and required response actions.Develop and document risk response strategies, including accept, avoid, reduce, transfer, exploit, or enhance approaches.Continuously monitor and update the status of risks, tracking triggers, changes in probability or impact, and mitigation progress.Provide regular risk reports such as mitigation status, proximity reports, and change control logs, with frequency based on project phase and PEP requirements.Support project decision-making and change control processes by integrating risk information into baseline management and performance reviews.Facilitate regular Risk Management Board (RMB) meetings to review critical risks, approve handling strategies, and determine if changes affect scope, cost, or schedule.Coordinate with Risk Owners to assess and update risks within their scope of responsibility.Ensure risk documentation is kept current and traceable, including RMP revisions, Risk Register updates, and quantitative analysis inputs.Determine when contingency and management reserve adjustments are needed based on risk analysis results.Ensure risks are integrated with project baseline planning, including WBS alignment and schedule activity mapping.Interpret and communicate risk analysis results, such as confidence levels, S-curves, and tornado diagrams, to project leadership and DOE.Present risk management and results during all DOE Critical Decision (CD) phases.Foster a proactive risk culture by encouraging lessons learned, continuous improvement, and open communication on potential risk threats and opportunities.
