DESCRIPTION:Job SummaryThis position coordinates treatment to provide comprehensive wound assessments and plan of care Including treatment recommendations, goals, implementation of treatment, evaluation and outcomes for patients throughout the client. Provides patient, family and staff education regarding wound management, prevention of pressure ulcers, support surfaces, dressing selections and other therapies. is a resource person for physicians wound team and clinical staff; additionally is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision; performs other Job-related duties as assigned; drives occasionally on client business; and participates In client Management System.Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:Makes rounds of veterans /member area to ensure proper level and quality of care. Follow-up on all veteran/member issue. Provides direct care as required. May perform more difficult nursing procedures. Provide support and consultation to the nursing staff on clinical issues. Ensure compliance with facility policies and. 40%Oversees and assists with admissions to and discharges from the facility.10%Oversees daily staff assignments to ensure that hte facility is appropriately staffed to meet the veteran/members needs in the most efficient and effective manner. May reassign staff or call in additional staff as necessary to maintain coverage through the shift. 10%Orient new staff, asset with the planning and delivery of in-services for staff. Supervises nursing staff. Complete performance appraisals in a timely manner. Counsel staff. Recommends discipline as needed. 10%Assist In Development Of Policies And Procedures. Assist With Quality Assurance Audits. Reported toAnd takes appropriate actions in emergency situations. Contact the director of nursing services and/or administrator wit significant issues (abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property or funds, fire and police involvement. 10%Obtain assigns and maintain inventory of supplies equipment and medications during the hours the warehouse is closed. 10%Serve in committees, attend meetings, complete special projects as assigned. Assumes staff assignments when necessary.
