Job Description

DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES

The client is seeking a full-time SAS Data Integration-Visual Analytics developer to work with our client .
Consultant will be responsible for maintaining, manipulating and managing the data (ETL) to feed into the Analytical Data Marts.
Primary responsibilities include mapping data from multiple sources, implementing and maintaining the data flows and loading the data into the Analytical Data Marts.
The consultant will be required to develop/maintain the data feeds for the SAS Analytical/Reporting Data mart for optimal efficiencies.
The consultant will assist the client to architect, design and develop Visual Analytics (VA) reports, graphs, visualizations and dashboards.
The consultant will use SAS Visual Analytics components to develop the visualizations and reports.
The consultant must have excellent communication skills and must be able to communicate about the techniques developed and results of analysis both to executives, pilots and other analysts in the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS – ESSENTIAL

A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business
Administration, or a related field is required and equivalent work experience required.
At least 3-5 years of SAS Programming and 3-5 years of SQL
Must have ability to us SAS tools (SAS Studio, VA) to produce results and deliverables, (as opposed to using custom SAS code).
Data visualization tools as SAS Visual Analytics (VA), SAS Studio
Experience using SAS Visual Analytics (this is a nice to have):
Loading data in LASR Analytic Server and experience with Visual Data Builder
Experience with VA Explorer and VA Designer
Developing Visualizations, Reports and Dashboards
3+ years of SAS\SQL programming, data architecting and technical design.
Be proficient in Base SAS programming (DATA step), SQL programming (i.e., use of SQL pass-through or PROC SQL), as well as the SAS Macro language for use in making code more efficient.
Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for problem solving
Familiarity with SABRE/DECS system preferred (this is a nice to have)
Experience using databases and writing complex queries involving various joins, aggregation functions, sub-queries, update/alter tables
Ability to effectively communicate, including an understanding of the 24-hour clock and worldwide time zones
Preferred experience in the airline or transportation industry with a working knowledge of labor agreements, the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), and airline crew scheduling procedures (this is a nice to have)..
Integrate and transform disparate data sources, determining the appropriate data quality and data standardization techniques to be applied
Good written and spoken communications skills in English and thought-leadership skills.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

Research and analyze monthly pilot pairings/sequences (a grouped series of flight segments) and compare against the labor agreement, Preferential Bidding System, the FARs, and other existing or future agreements, in light of client's objectives, policies and interests
Monitor and analyze pilot vacation awards, equipment vacancy awards/assignments, displacements, mutual base exchanges, pilot scheduling awards/assignments, and pilot seniority-related issues
Perform analyses to assess compliance with existing and future agreements and to explore and review possible solutions/remedies for non-compliance
Interact with client’s officers, committee members, pilots, staff, and Airlines representatives
Respond to pilot inquiries, provide appropriate solutions, and follow-up to ensure resolution
Professionally prepare and deliver written and verbal presentations
Work in a team environment and prioritize work and projects in order to meet deadlines Work variable hours, weekends, and holidays as needed due to monthly pilot scheduling timelines
Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or Director.
