Scope of Engagement:Procurement of professional services (architects/engineers), construction, and MRO-related goods and servicesResponsibilities:Procurement of professional services (architects/engineers), construction, and MRO-related goods and services.Responsible for preparing, negotiating, managing and coordinating agreements supporting the procurement of various materials or services.Evaluates and selects suppliers in terms of quality, service, cost and capability(total cost of ownership).May assist in the development of procurement strategies in conjunction with the businesses or commodity teams for a region or specific area of spend.Ensures competitive pricing service versus industry trends and market place dynamics. Resolves quality, service, supply and invoicing issues with suppliers.Identifies and drives continuous improvement in the buy and in the contractual relationship with suppliers.Oversees contract implementation and supplier performance/interaction; involved with resolving day to day operational issues.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required, preferably with a purchasing, materials management concentration, or related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience (minimum of five years) of direct, independent purchasing; demonstrated experience in identifying and solving purchasing and associated issuesCompetencies:Demonstrated negotiation ability with experience in dealing directly with contractors and professional services firms (i.e., architects and engineers)Demonstrated customer service orientation in a support or service departmentComprehensive knowledge of contracting techniques for construction-related projectsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment setting priorities consistent with facilities and strategic planningAbility to understand and relate procurement concepts and develop and maintain relationships with supervisors, project managers, and directorsStrong written and verbal communication skills with excellent organizational skillsStrong computer skills with competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and AccessAcquired competency in the use of ERP systems, database management, and comparative analysisExperience in contract writingexperience and expertise in handling procurement-specific concerns of users and suppliers related to contract managementDemonstrated knowledge and expertise in administering mid- to large-sized procurement operations; attention to detail in documentation and transaction accuracy requiredexcellent verbal and written communication skillsPerformance of Services:Issuance of Requests for Proposals; contract administration; electronic filing; resolving contract-related issues in e-Builder (project management system); other administrative duties as assignedPerforms functions that direct and lead efforts that benefit the purchase of planning, design, and construction and facility maintenance services, materials, supplies, and equipmentEvaluate proposals either as an individual or as a facilitator of a group. Prepare documentation for award analysis and recommendation of awardPrepare correspondence and reports regarding contract matters.
