Description:

Sr Financial Analyst

General Function:
The Senior Finance Analyst – Operations provides financial leadership, analysis, and insights to support operational (focus on Transportation) decision-making and performance improvement. This role partners closely with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to develop budgets, forecasts, and cost analyses, ensuring financial integrity and alignment with strategic objectives. The Senior Finance Analyst interprets complex data, identifies trends, and delivers actionable recommendations that drive efficiency, optimize resource allocation, and support overall business growth.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and control transportation costs across all modes, identifying drivers, variances, and savings opportunities.
Provide financial insights and scenario modeling to support logistics decisions such as carrier selection, service level selection network optimization.
Create and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for transportation efficiency and carrier performance.
Partner with transpiration operation, supply chain, and procurement teams on carrier bids, contract compliance, and cost improvement initiatives.
Prepare management reports highlighting risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations for cost control.
Drive process improvements in freight payment, audit, and cost allocation while ensuring financial policy compliance.
Perform month-end close activities related to transportation, including accruals, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
Prepare detailed financial reports and dashboards on freight costs, allocation by business unit, and carrier spend performance.
Partner with logistics and accounting teams to improve freight payment, audit, and cost allocation processes.
Develop and manage transportation budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support operational planning.

Basic Qualifications:
BS in Accounting or Finance. Master’s degree and/or CPA highly desirable
3-5 years in progressively financial roles
Deep understanding of technical accounting rules and internal controls
Comfortable dealing with change and ambiguity
Strong computer skills, including very strong spreadsheet and database skills
Highly detailed and accuracy-oriented
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and with staff
Superior organization, problem-solving, decision making and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous SAP knowledge
Experience in a manufacturing and distribution environment
Experience in Shared Services Model

Education:
Discipline - Education Level
Finance - Masters of Business Administration
