Job Description

Position Summary:
The Senior IT Project Manager will lead enterprise-wide technology initiatives within a municipal government environment. The role requires an experienced professional capable of independently managing strategic IT projects, facilitating cross-department collaboration, and advising leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead full lifecycle IT projects (planning through implementation)
Develop project charters, schedules, budgets, and risk management plans
Provide executive-level status reporting to the client leadership
Coordinate cross-functional municipal departments (public safety, finance, utilities, administration)
Oversee vendor coordination and contract deliverables
Facilitate stakeholder workshops and steering committee meetings
Support governance and change management initiatives

Vendor management
Budget oversight
Governance framework implementation
Strong documentation and reporting skills

Required Experience:
8–12+ years IT project management experience
3+ years in public sector or municipal government environment
Experience in hybrid (on-prem + cloud) IT environments
Proven ability to independently lead large initiatives

Preferred Certifications:
PMP (strongly preferred)
ITIL (preferred)
Agile/Scrum certifications (nice to have)
