Senior Manager, External Strategy & Transformation Communications
Role Overview
The Senior Manager, External Strategy & Transformation Communications, plays a pivotal role in driving awareness of the client’s end-to-end transformation strategy and the business impact behind it. With a proven track record in external communications, this person will shape compelling narratives that bolster client's reputation as a future-fit, innovation-led, AI-first company.
The Senior Manager will work at the intersection of strategy, technology, reputation, and storytelling. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners across Strategy & Transformation, internal & change communications, corporate communications, and other key functions to develop and execute communications strategies that elevate client’s transformation agenda externally.
This role reports directly to the Senior Director, External Strategy & Transformation Communications.
Responsibilities:
Develop an understanding of the client’s tech ecosystem, including how key technologies are implemented and scaled across the business, and craft high-impact communications strategies that position client as a modern, intelligent, and future-ready CPG leader.
Partner closely with Strategy & Transformation teams to identify newsworthy milestones, shape narratives around innovation and business transformation, and develop communications materials that support launches, announcements, partnerships, and other strategic moments.
Translate complex technology, data, digital, and AI topics into compelling, business-first storytelling that is accessible, credible, and relevant for external audiences.
Serve as a communications business partner to senior leaders and associates within Strategy & Transformation, providing strategic counsel on messaging, positioning, thought leadership opportunities, and visibility plans.
Help identify and prepare leaders for external engagements by developing briefing materials, talking points, backgrounders, Q&As, and other executive communications assets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key business, technology, and trade journalists to secure high-quality coverage that advances client’s broader corporate narrative and strengthens the company’s external reputation.
Develop compelling written content including press releases, briefing documents, talking points, and storytelling assets.
Assist with social media content (Linkedin) development and the gathering of supporting assets for leaders, helping extend key narratives across LinkedIn and other appropriate owned channels.
Monitor industry trends, media conversations, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for the client to lead the conversation around transformation, innovation, and AI.
Measure and evaluate the impact of external communications efforts, maintain coverage trackers and internal housekeeping documents.

Senior leaders are confidently positioned as thoughtful, human-centered voices on innovation, AI, and transformation.
Media and external stakeholders increasingly associate client with practical, responsible, business-led innovation.
Oualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field: 10+ years’ experience across the PR/communications spectrum (agency, in-house), including external communications, media relations, executive communications, and strategy & planning.
Proven experience working on technology-focused communications, including AI, data, digital platforms, or enterprise technology partnerships, with a track record of shaping business-first stories for media, executives, and external stakeholders.
Ability to partner confidently with senior executives to elevate visibility and communicate company strategy.
Exceptional writing and critical thinking skills.
Excitement for learning and telling technology stories that can have real-world impact, with a strong interest in AI and how it’s impacting humans.
Passion for translating highly technical topics into clear, compelling narratives for general audiences.
Self-starter and independent thinker who can thrive in a dynamic environment while not always having all of the information or details.
