Position Overview


Description:

Senior Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Execution

Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.

Coordinate site preparation, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

Ensure alignment with customer specifications, contract terms, and engineering requirements.

Stakeholder Coordination

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams.

Conduct project meetings, progress updates, and reporting.

Manage subcontractors, field crews, and third-party service providers.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure all activities comply with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.

Promote a strong safety culture and oversee adherence to site-specific safety plans.

Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

Technical Oversight

Review transformer specifications, drawings, and installation procedures.

Coordinate with engineering teams on technical issues, design changes, and site constraints.

Oversee mechanical assembly, oil filling, electrical connections, and testing.

Schedule & Cost Control

Monitor project progress against schedule and budget.

Identify and resolve delays, risks, or scope changes.

Manage change orders and cost impacts (e.g., schedule changes such as 5-day vs. 6-day workweeks).

Quality Assurance

Ensure all work meets quality standards and client expectations.

Oversee inspections, testing, and commissioning processes.

Ensure proper documentation, turnover packages, and project closeout reports.

Preferred educational backgrounds could include:

Electrical Engineering

Engineering-related disciplines

Technical field-related education

However, equivalent hands-on experience will be considered acceptable in lieu of formal education.

Required Experience

The Hiring Manager emphasized that this is a highly specialized role due to the customer environment and nuclear facility requirements. As such, the team is looking for a more senior-level professional capable of operating independently in a highly regulated environment.

Target Experience Level:

-Approximately 7–10+ years of relevant experience

-Senior-level project execution background preferred

Preferred Industry Background

Candidates should ideally come from:

-Electrical industry

-Utility industry

-Nuclear industry

-Engineering services organizations

-Large industrial manufacturers

Must-Have Experience

The Hiring Manager identified the following as key qualifications:

1. Electrical Background

Strong understanding of electrical systems and field operations

Experience supporting electrical projects in industrial environments

2. Field Service Experience

Prior field execution or field service coordination experience

Ability to operate effectively in onsite operational environments

3. Nuclear Power Plant Experience

Prior exposure to nuclear power plant projects or regulated utility environments strongly preferred

Familiarity with nuclear compliance expectations considered highly valuable

Additional experience supporting utilities, engineering firms, or large-scale industrial projects would also be viewed favorably.

Nuclear & Security Requirements

Due to the customer environment, strict eligibility requirements apply.

Estimated duration: approximately 20 days

Tentative start: August 1st, 2026

Duration may fluctuate slightly depending on operational needs

October 2026 Project

Estimated duration: approximately 20 days

2027 Project

Additional future assignment planned for 2027

Also expected to last approximately 20 days

These assignments are intended to remain relatively short-term in nature and are not currently expected to evolve into long-term continuous assignments
