Description:Shipping & Receiving SpecialistPosition Overview:This role supports shipping and receiving operations with a blend of hands-on packaging and digital processing. The ideal candidate is comfortable being on their feet for extended periods and has basic familiarity with SAP and Microsoft Office.Key Responsibilities:SAP Transactions: Process shipments and deliveries using SAP; input data and update statuses.Communication Tools: Use Microsoft Teams for internal tracking and communication; email for general correspondence.Package Handling:Receive and sort incoming parcels (UPS deliveries typically arrive mid-morning).Package items from the shop using expanding foam and box assembly.Close and process packages in SAP for outbound shipping.Equipment Use:Operate scan guns integrated with SAP.Use packaging machines and cranes (no forklift operation).Physical Requirements:Lift packages up to 70 lbs (team lifts or crane used for heavier freight).Spend more than half the day on foot; remainder at a computer.Customer Service Support:Respond to email inquiries regarding shipment and delivery status.Position Description:Accepts incoming goods and compares them with the shipping document (Material number, description, quantity).Checks incoming goods for visible damage, documents them and provides the information if required.Takes care for correct use of transport equipment (hand-guided industrial trucks, forklift, etc.).Captures relevant data in data processing systems.Arranges the acceptance, storage, commissioning and removal of goods in the storage area and records them in the appropriate systems.Organizes a regular stock maintenance and inventory in the storage areaAssembles deliveries out of given storage compartments and reviews for completeness and accuracy (e.g. quantity and article number in reference to the respective delivery notes).Completes packaging of deliveries having regard to shipping instructions, common methods of dispatch, types of packaging and other instructions (e.g. Dangerous Goods) in the given framework.Adds the corresponding shipping documents to the outgoing goods.Completes transports inside and if applicable outside the premises with professional usage of appropriate means of transportation.Impacts:It is characteristic that situations vary significantly, so thinking is about addressing and evaluating unusual or uncommon situations appropriately and to resolve incidents or issues in the most suitable and effective way. Work performed is still procedure based, however issues and problems arising need accountable addressing and solution by incumbent. Broad scope of tasks and accountabilities within one functional area needs to be managed by senior experienced incumbent. Non-routine inquiries and issues occur regularly and need to be solved instantly, with a certain degree of authority and bindingness towards (internal and external) customers.Experience:3 year vocational training + 3 to 5 years practical and specialized experience, or specialized qualification needed.Knowledge:Have a good grasp of knowledge and principles in the related field of work, based on vocational training and practical experience, which enables incumbents to operate in moderately complex workflow environments, often working with specialized equipment and machinesWork ScheduleMorning Routine: Catch up on emails and prepare for incoming shipments.Midday Activity: Unbox and sort deliveries; begin packaging and processing.Afternoon Tasks: Finalize shipments, load trucks, and respond to customer service emails.
