Job Description


Seeking an entry-level Surface Mount Technology (SMT) operator - responsible for operating and maintaining SMT equipment used in the assembly and production of electronic circuit boards. The skillset and duties of an entry-level SMT operator should include but are not limited to:



Skillset:

Basic Technical Knowledge: Understanding of electronics manufacturing and SMT process.
Machinery Operation: Ability to operate and monitor SMT machines, such as pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, and stencil printers.
Attention to Detail: Ensuring the accurate placement of components and quality inspection.
Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with software used to operate SMT machines and to log production data.
Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle small components and perform manual soldering if required.
Problem-Solving: Basic troubleshooting skills to address minor equipment issues.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other team members in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for long periods and handle repetitive tasks.



Duties:

Machine Setup: Setting up and calibrating SMT equipment for production runs.
Component Loading: Loading components onto the feeders of the pick-and-place machine.
Production Monitoring: Monitoring the production process to ensure smooth operation and high-quality output.
Inspection and Testing: Inspecting assembled circuit boards for defects and verifying conformance to quality standards.
Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of SMT equipment.
Documentation: Recording production data, equipment settings, and maintenance activities.
Work Area Maintenance: Keeping the work area clean and organized, following safety and 5S principles.



Required skills:

Experience with SMT machines
Experience in inspecting boards after reflow by following IPC-610 requirements.
Able to set-up machine, which includes machine adjustments and ability to perform set-up (feeder loading and changing) per the manufacturing instructions and Standard Operating Procedure.
Experience in setting up solder paste printer, reflow oven. Previous experience in an SMT manufacturing facility.
Worker must be able to read and speak English.
Must have good attendance, good job stability.



Nice to have skillsets/requirements:

Experience with Juki SMT machines
machine maintenance experience
Programming experience
Technical degree



Education:

GED or HS diploma is necessary to go full time with client.





Notes:

Shift: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm, possible voluntary OT

Safety Sensitive - Yes

Lifting requirements: Ability to lift up to 10-15 lbs.
