Job Description

Summary
This position will be assigned to a large software design, development, testing, and implementation project to replace the existing Vocational Rehabilitation, Older Independent Blind, and Business Enterprise Program computer systems. Testers will be assigned to and represent the RSA Project Team for the remainder of the project.

Job Duties
Read and understand the testing methodology documents: Testing Methodology Presentations, User Acceptance Test Plan, Test script inventories, etc.
Complete the computer-based training (inFormed Academy) for the new system.
Review and critique draft test scripts.

Execute the following different types of test scripts:
o Conversion Verification Tests
o Conversion Functional Tests
o Functional Tests
o Non-functional Tests
o Retests and Regression Tests
o Ad hoc Tests
Capture Pass/Fail test results in the test inventory.
Create testing and defect documentation.
Assist with requirements confirmation.
Attend daily project team meetings and report progress and issues.
Attend Sprint Reviews and inFormed Guided System Walkthroughs.
Attend Defect Remediation work sessions.
Attend additional testing meetings as requested.
Keep track of hours worked and submit a weekly timesheet.
Work with RSA Subject Matter Experts and Business Analysts to ensure the quality and accuracy of testing.
Complete testing assignments as scheduled.
Assist the Operational Readiness Testing users as requested.
Other testing related duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills
Working knowledge of software testing methodologies, techniques, and tools.
General understanding of business processes associated with government services.
Experience working with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and SharePoint, or Google Gmail, Sheets, Docs and Drive.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Ability to monitor multiple work threads and accurately report progress.
History of completing assignments by assigned deadlines.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to create clear, concise, and accurate test results and defect documentation.


Required Skills

2+ years of experience performing software testing.
At least one year of experience testing application components for a large application


Education
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent studies

Preferred Skills

General understanding of business processes associated with government services.
