Job Description
Position Requirements:
Exchange On-Premises Administration (20%)
Manage and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server 2016/2019/SE infrastructure including mailbox databases, DAGs, and high availability
Perform server maintenance, patching, certificate management, and capacity planning
Troubleshoot mail flow issues, connectivity problems, and performance bottlenecks
Configure transport rules, connectors, and Client Access Services
Manage integration with Enterprise Vault for legacy archive access
Exchange Online Administration (20%)
Administer Microsoft 365 Exchange Online environment and hybrid configuration
Manage mailbox migrations from on-premises to Exchange Online
Configure Exchange Online Protection (EOP), DLP policies, and mail flow rules
Implement retention policies, eDiscovery, and compliance features
Monitor service health and manage M365 compliance requirements
Oversee migration from Enterprise Vault to M365 native archiving/retention
Microsoft Teams Administration (25%)
Administer Teams environment including team/channel governance and lifecycle policies
Configure Teams voice features including Direct Routing, calling policies, and phone system
Manage Teams apps, bots, custom integrations, and connector policies
Implement Teams compliance including retention, eDiscovery, communication compliance, and information barriers
Configure guest access, external access, meeting policies, and live events
Troubleshoot Teams connectivity, quality issues, and client problems
Manage Teams device administration (phones, room systems, displays)
Email Security & Proofpoint Administration (15%)
Administer Proofpoint Email Security platform and configure filtering policies
Manage threat protection including TAP, URL Defense, and Attachment Defense
Monitor and respond to security incidents and phishing campaigns
Implement and maintain email authentication (DMARC, SPF, DKIM) and encryption
Generate compliance and security reports
M365 Ecosystem & Power Platform Support (10%)
Support Power Automate flows integrating with Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint
Assist with Power Platform governance, DLP policies, and connector security
Maintain integration points between SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams
Support automation solutions leveraging M365 services
Understand licensing implications across M365 workloads
Automation & Scripting (10%)
Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for Exchange, Teams, and M365 automation
Utilize Microsoft Graph API for advanced automation and reporting
Create bulk operation scripts for user provisioning, migrations, and configuration changes
Automate routine administrative tasks and reporting
Document and maintain script libraries and automation workflows
Additional Duties
Participate in on-call rotation to provide Tier 2 support for M365 Platform
Provide Tier 3 support for escalated email and Teams issues
Document configurations, maintain procedures, and train staff
Collaborate with IT security and compliance teams on email and collaboration security initiatives
Assist with M365 governance and adoption planning
Required Technology & Experience
Experience Requirements
3-5 years email and collaboration platform administration experience
Microsoft Exchange Server (2016 or later) administration experience
Exchange Online and Microsoft 365 administration experience
Microsoft Teams administration experience
Proven experience with hybrid Exchange environments and cloud migrations
PowerShell scripting experience for automation and bulk operations
Email security platform administration (Proofpoint preferred)

Proofpoint Certified Administrator Experience with Enterprise Vault administration and EV-to-M365 migrations
Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)
Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (GDPR, HIPAA, SOX, etc.)
Experience with Microsoft Teams voice/calling and Direct Routing
GitHub/version control for script management
