Position Overview


Performs the day to day clerical, recordkeeping or processing duties of a particular area or function using common office technology and client administrative systems. Will train on latter. Gathers data and assists in preparing reports. Provides information to faculty, staff members, students and the public. Keyboards and processes text and information, and may answer general correspondence. Makes appointments and maintains calendars based on specific instructions. Arranges meetings, schedules rooms and equipment. May maintain inventory and or order office supplies. Contributes to unit goals by accomplishing clerical or administrative duties as required. Some business training beyond high school desired.

Staff Assistant II Provides assistance in delivering exceptional customer service in a busy Student Mental Health clinic and Behavioral Health Clinic serving the client community. Serves as the primary contact with patients and provides general administrative support for clinicians and psychiatrists on the team. Duties include: greeting and assisting patients at the clinic’s front desk, answering the clinic's telephones and routing messages to providers, scheduling and confirming appointments, coordinating referrals, processing incoming and outgoing clinical correspondence, maintaining files, processing and tracking outside referrals, and managing patient flow. Perform other related duties as needed.

Key Qualifications:
Experience working in a hospital or medical office environment
Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
Experience scheduling appointments and managing calendars
Comfortable answering and directing phone calls
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting

Schedule: 35 hours per week
