Job Description


Key Responsibilities:
1. Supplier Auditing & Assessments
Conduct supplier audits using the VDA 6.3 process audit methodology (P2–P7).
Perform supplier assessments, on-site visits, and follow-up verification of corrective actions.
Lead audit preparation, execution, scoring, documentation, and communication of findings.
Travel as required to domestic and international supplier locations.
2. PPAP & Component Qualification
Manage the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new and modified supplier components.
Work cross functionally with R&D, Procurement, and Production to ensure timely part qualification.
Review and approve submission packages, including control plans, PFMEAs, process flows, and capability data.
3. Supplier Quality Agreements (SQA)
Initiate, review, and negotiate Supplier Quality Assurance Agreements.
Collaborate with the Legal department when modifications or exceptions are required.
4. Root Cause Analysis & Corrective Actions (8D)
Lead technical problem solving activities using the 8D methodology.
Guide suppliers through rigorous root cause identification and permanent corrective action implementation.
Facilitate cross functional teams to resolve quality issues impacting production or field performance.
5. Ongoing Supplier Development
Support onboarding of new suppliers globally.
Mentor suppliers on client expectations for PFMEA, control plans, process capability, and standard quality tools.
Ensure compliance with client requirements, code of conduct, and manufacturing best practices.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of supplier quality engineering experience (10+ years preferred).
Prior experience performing supplier audits (VDA 6.3 strongly preferred; ISO/IATF 16949 acceptable).
Demonstrated PPAP experience—must be able to execute without extensive training.
Strong background in 8D problem solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action leadership.
Understanding of core manufacturing processes (e.g., sheet metal, paint, wiring, assemblies).
Ability to work independently and drive results without continuous oversight.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:
VDA 6.3 Auditor certification or prior hands on VDA auditing experience.
Experience in automotive or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
SAP (especially Quality Module) experience.
Familiarity with TeamCenter or other PLM systems (trainable).
Valid passport (international travel may be required).

Work Environment:
Hybrid schedule: typical expectation is 3 days/week onsite with flexibility for travel or remote work.
Onboarding and mentorship occur locally, making regional candidates ideal.
Work supports electrification equipment supplied to global data center infrastructure projects.
