Job Description

We have the following Direct hire position with our client in Multiple locations and shifts

Minneapolis, MN - @ .9 FTE day/evening/night - requires a work commitment. 72 hours per 2 weeks. Roating Day/Evening shifts (start times include 630, 830, 1030 and 2:30), with occassional night shifts (to help cover time off/holidays) Schedule includes rotation of holiday, weekend and call time. Call starts at the end of a shift, 3:15pm, 5:30pm 7:30pm and ends at 6:45am on weekdays. Weekend call or schedule shift combination is typically 48 hours, scheduled one in four weekends. May be assigned for than one call shift during week. Call response time is currently 30 minutes. Discounted employee fees for parking (lott-shuttle), sign on bonus based on FTE and requires a work commitment.

Minneapolis MN - @ 1.0 / .9 / .8 FTE - day/evening/night. D/E/N rotation, variable weekends, benefit eligible, sign on bonus

Edina MN - @ .9 FTE = day/evening/night - .9 72 hours per two weeks, 8 hour shifts, rotating start times (7am, 9am, 11am or 11pm). Occasional week night call, and every third weekend call rotation (30 minute response time)

Position Summary

Performs the functions of a surgical technologist as a scrub person during surgical procedures providing patient care services appropriate to the age of the patients (ages pediatric through geriatric) served during the shift of duty in collaboration with the RN. Is responsible for adhering to standards of nursing practice and patient care, correct use of supplies/equipment and maintenance of the surgical suite under the direction of an RN.

* Serves as scrub person during operative procedures
• Anticipates surgeon's needs
• Supplies appropriate instruments, suture and specialty items.
• Maintains aseptic technique during all sterile procedures.
• Assures proper identification and handling of specimens.
• Completes all required sponge, sharps and instrument counts.
• Follows appropriate action in emergency situations.
Provides patient care
• Adheres to standards of clinical practice and patient care appropriate to the age of the patients.
• Assists in transfer/positioning of patients.
• Collaborates with the MD and circulating nurse to provide care for each patient.
• Respects the confidentiality of all information.
* Corrects use and setup of supplies and equipment
• Assures availability and proper functioning of supplies and equipment.
• Assembles and adjust equipment.
• Cleans, replenishes and sterilizes instruments and supplies as needed.
• Participates in the evaluation of new equipment or supplies.
• Assists other members of the team with terminal cleaning of room in readiness of next patient.
