KEY DETAILS
Design of AC drive system panels using client hardware. Knowledge of UL & NEC requirements for panel design, ability to mark up schematics for CAD processing, creation of bills of material.

Position Overview:

The main objective of this position is to provide engineering support to the FA PMA Project Operations group. The position requires a strong knowledge of client products and how they are best packaged into industrial enclosures for custom applications. The candidate must be trained and have experience with the following topics:

• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical codes, such as NEC, NFPA 70, NFPA 79, UL and CE certifications
• Experience to release bills of material and work with procurement and manufacturing to drive the project to a successful completion within time and budget expectations

This position will report directly to the PMA Project Operations Manager within the Digital Industry, Factory Automation group.
The candidate will be expected to work closely with other engineers within the PMA Project Operations group in our client offices and support the needs of OEM Business Developers by providing custom enclosure solutions as required.

Responsibilities:

This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize dozens of requests based on schedule needs. Candidate may be required to interface directly with our customers on technical details to expedite the process.

Capable of reading customer specification documents and translating this information into a control system design using client components
Directing CAD resources on development of schematics and enclosure layout drawings
Responsible for designing industrial control enclosures that contain AC drives, PLC’s and HMI’s
Must size enclosure cooling based on customer specifications
Visit local control panel assembly shops and critique their activities

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

An understanding of customer needs in the machinery manufacturing community
5-10 years of experience in an applications engineering role using motion control, drives and automation products
5-10 years of demonstrated experience working in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:

Preferred education of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a comparable field / experience
Possess a strong knowledge of motion control and industrial automation
Experience working with customers on quotes, proposals and solutions development
Knowledge of client products or competitors motion & automation products is a plus
