Systems Administrator
Position General Summary:
The Systems Administrator coordinates the day-to-day, administration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server systems throughout the enterprise. Specifically, the Engineer provides support and configuration for server systems upon which the packaged and custom applications of the enterprise are installed. The Systems Administrator supports enterprise-class server systems for a variety of business needs and challenges and communicates clearly with end-users, peers, and management, providing technical support and troubleshooting.
Essential Position Functions:
Administer server systems to ensure their continued operations through physical inspection and proactive review of application logs and system consoles
Research warnings, errors, and reported issues to determine the root cause, prepare action plans, participate in peer reviews, and document, test, and implement solutions
Work to revise and streamline processes as needed
Respond to requests and incidents in the designated queue of the problem management system
Coordinate support and repair efforts with vendors and on-site personnel
Implement new server systems according to documented plans and published change control processes
Provide mentorship and training to technicians and promote an atmosphere of knowledge-sharing
Document new processes and update existing documentation
Develop recommendations for enhancing approaches for support services
Develop and manage effective working relationships with other departments, groups, and personnel
Design and plan implementations of projects based on customer requirements, best practices, and vendor recommendations
Provide a minimum of bi-weekly status report updates for current projects
Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as, meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others

Education/Licensure/Skill/Expertise/Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification
CompTIA Network + certification
Nutanix Certified Professional – Multi-cloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI)
Microsoft Certified : Azure Fundamentals
A minimum of 3 years of IT work experience. Requires a high level of expertise in supporting multiple enterprise-class systems and environments.
Three to five years’ experience in maintaining routers, switches, or wireless devices.
Experience deploying and maintaining Microsoft operating systems experience, preferably in 2016-2022.
Experience deploying and maintaining Linux operating systems, preferably in RHEL8.
Experience supporting and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server.
Experience supporting and maintaining MySQL.
