Systems Analysis Specialist
Position Overview:
The Systems Analysis Specialist serves as a critical liaison between business and technology teams, responsible for analyzing, designing, documenting, and improving data, reporting, and operational processes. This role partners with business stakeholders, developers, data engineers, and vendors to deliver scalable reporting solutions, automate manual processes, improve data quality, and support enterprise technology modernization initiatives.
The position is responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements, analyzing complex data and reporting needs, validating business rules, and supporting the migration of reporting assets into enterprise-supported platforms. This individual will play a key role in reducing technical debt, improving system reliability, optimizing data integration processes, and ensuring reporting solutions meet operational and strategic business objectives.
Successful candidates will possess strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills, along with experience in data warehousing, business intelligence, reporting technologies, and process improvement. This role requires collaboration across multiple business and technology teams to deliver sustainable, scalable, and high-quality solutions that support organizational goals.
Works with business partners to develop complete and accurate business requirements
Creates comprehensive functional requirements
Develops complex SSRS reports – new and updates
Develops complex Tableau Dashboard – new and updates
Executes functional and regression testing of code changes for ongoing break fixes and enhancements
Assists in User Acceptance Testing of code changes for ongoing breaks fixes and enhancements
Reviews all existing processes and data and recommends / documents / implements improvements
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in end-to-end user requirements discussions
Coordinate with business partners to be able to translate business process/workflows to technical process/workflow
Coordinate with developers on technical delivery
Suggest design for and test code changes
Design ways to improve systems, reducing costs and maximizing opportunities
Documentation of all calls, business requirements and team items
Work with necessary team members to identify how to integrate UM reporting into the Datamart Application.
Additional Responsibilities:
Lead analysis and migration of reporting assets from legacy and temporary environments into enterprise-supported platforms.
Partner with business and technical teams to modernize reporting solutions, automate manual processes, and reduce technical debt.
Analyze data integration processes and recommend opportunities to improve performance, reliability, scalability, and governance.
Support enterprise reporting strategy through consolidation of reporting tools and standardization of data sources.
Required Experience / Qualifications:
3+ years of intermediate to advanced T-SQL (complex JOINs, subqueries, stored procedures, indexes, temp tables and CTEs, query optimization is a MUST). MS SQL is a must. TD SQL is desired but not required.
3+ years of Tableau experience
3+ years of functional testing and regression/negative testing
3+ years of Intermediate to advanced SSRS (hands on dev experience with drilldowns, drillthroughs, dynamic groupings, document maps, single dataset for multiple controls etc etc)
3+ years of intermediate SSIS (must be able to review / debug / suggest design for SSIS packages, must understand SSIS metadata rules, various SSIS properties, etc)
5+ years of data analysis and mining
5+ years of requirements gathering in Agile environments
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Logical, detail-oriented team player who learns quickly and has the ability to handle multiple, competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse or Datamart environments.
Experience documenting complex business logic and data lineage.
Experience with ETL design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Experience implementing process automation solutions.
Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and validation principles.
Experience supporting production reporting environments and release management activities.

UM experience
Health Services / Medical Management / Population Health
Experience with healthcare operational reporting modernization initiatives.
Experience migrating reporting assets between environments.
Experience with vendor data integrations and Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) processes.
Experience supporting Utilization Management reporting and analytics.
Knowledge of healthcare quality programs, HEDIS, Stars, Clinical Reporting, and Population Health analytics.
Experience working within Medicare Advantage organizations.
