Description:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Test Engineer II to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans to ensure the quality and stability of our virtualization infrastructure. They will work closely with development and operations teams to identify and resolve defects, optimize performance, and maintain a robust and reliable virtualized environment.Key Responsibilities:Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases.Ensure the quality and stability of virtualization infrastructure using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) KVM virtualization technologies.Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve defects.Optimize performance and maintain a robust and reliable virtualized environment.Conduct thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved and perform thorough documentation of test plans and results.Participate in design and code reviews to ensure high-quality software.Develop and maintain automated test scripts.Proactively identify, document, and mitigate risks to the virtualized environment.Continuously improve testing methodologies and procedures to enhance the quality and scalability of our test practices.Required Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.4 to 7 years of relevant experience in a Test Engineer role required. With proven Direct Contribution to KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) or Related Projects such as Platform Engineering.Proven experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and KVM virtualization, KVM network configuration through previous work experience.Strong understanding of virtualization concepts and technologies and the ability to explain core concepts, their benefits, and their use cases.Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Ansible).Knowledge of networking principles and configurations and the ability to explain common protocols, common devices, troubleshooting , and configuration tasksExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentPreferred Qualifications:Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef).Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g., OpenStack, VMware).Familiarity with other virtualization technologies (e.g., Xen, VMware).Main Responsibilities:Main responsibilities that your new hire will have - Manual Product Testing and Automation ScriptingKey Contributions:Top three contributions this new hire will make to the company within their first 90 or 120 daysManual Product Testing and Automation ScriptingMust-Have Qualifications:Qualifications are must-haves for candidates (e.g., X technical skills, experience with Y projects, Z certification or license)Required Experience Level: Mid-level to Senior-level experienceMust be familiar with industry-standard processes.Notes:Work Schedule: Mon- Fri 9am to 5 pmWork Location: Onsite onlyVIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
