Job Description

Description:

  • As an Analyst, Trade Compliance, you will be responsible for gathering, analyzing and reporting data on export activity of the client. Your duties will include updating and distributing the company’s international procedures manual; issuing and filing of USMCA and other global origin certificates; classifying goods for export; and preparing and filing requests with various government agencies.
  • You will prepare presentations, graphs, charts, etc.; and assist in maintaining SAP (foreign trade and export compliance) utilization and data accuracy, including harmonized tariff codes, country of origin codes, and various country’s export commodity codes.
  • You will also assist in developing, implementing, and providing compliance training across all business units. You will support international trade compliance issues and the Empowered Official role within the company under 22 CFR (ITAR).

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Gathering and analyzing export data and providing expert presentations, charts, and graphs covering foreign and US export compliance.
  • Gathering and analyzing data for compliant, auditable export procedures.
  • Responsible for assisting in the development and ongoing support of internal and external services including:
  • Managing export customs broker and forwarder powers of attorney.
  • Denying Party Screening reviews/releases in GTS/SAP.
  • Conducting ECCN Reviews and CCATS requests through SNAP-R.
  • Monitoring and acting upon relevant governmental notices or actions.
  • Assisting in reviewing contracts, quotations, purchase orders, purchase order acknowledgments, and acceptances for compliance purposes.
  • Verifying accuracy of country-of-origin marking, labeling, packing, and translations.
  • Creating, updating, and managing global compliance operating manuals as needed.
  • Reviewing and auditing export data for accuracy and oversight.
  • Determining export admissibility of any client-marketed products.
  • Responding to government inquiries or actions on export shipments.
  • Assisting in the responses to penalties, summonses, subpoenas, and government questionnaires.
  • Assisting, as appropriate, in assigning appropriate Incoterms 2000 sales terms in sales offers, contracts, letters of credit, and other related documents.
  • Filing anti-boycott reports, as required.
  • Conducting training; maintain reference materials, and the dissemination of updates to export policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining such records as are required by other export laws, as identified and appropriate.
  • Contributing expert information and recommendations in support of strategic and tactical sourcing decisions, including preferential duty treatment, quotas, export restrictions, trade agreements and other related factors.

Responsible for the administration of the client’s global trade programs and compliance to regulatory procedures including:

  • Managing the accuracy of all related export declarations.
  • Managing accuracy of shipper’s letters of instruction.
  • Reviewing and authenticating all certificates of origin (including USMCA).
  • Registering trademarks and copyrights with US and other customs agencies, as appropriate.

Required Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Business, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transportation.
  • 5-10 years of related experience in the industry.
  • Trade compliance certification or license (e.g., Customs broker’s license or equivalent)
  • Excellent written and verbal communications and presentation skills that can transcend multiple organizational levels
  • Excellent analytical skills. Ability to think tactically and strategically
  • Good team builder, leader, and consensus builder
  • Effective in cross-cultural environment
  • Must be able to work efficiently and measurably in a remote work environment
