Description:Client Platform USB Debug Systems EngineerThe Role:Within the client platform engineering team, this engineer will work in a highly technical lab based team to debug USB issues to provide system solutions for the client’s APU and CPU processors.The Person:An experienced USB engineer who is driven to learn new engineering concepts, working across silicon design, platform, and validation teams to debug and deliver robust USB solutions.Responsibilities:In an engineering lab environment, debug and analyze USB related issues utilizing hardware and software tools, analyzers, and oscilloscopes in partnership with USB controller and PHY designers, validation engineers, and firmware developersDevelop scripts and tools to support CPU/APU USB debug and analysisDevelop USB specification and system knowledge of new USB technologies to effectively support the debug of issuesProvide input for USB validation execution process improvementsPreferred Experience:Technical expertise in debug of USB4/3.2 system solutions including type C, PD, and retimersGood knowledge of USB4/3.2 specificationsExposure to USB compliance specification and test casesExperience using USB analyzer and oscilloscope based tools in the analysis an debug of USB issuesExperience in software development including using languages such as Python to be used in USB debug and analysis toolsCPU/APU and system level hardware and software usageGood written and oral communication skillsEducation:Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering preferred VIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
