Description:
Overview:
Working closely with the Lead User Researcher and User Researcher (Contractor), this role will focus on the operational and executional aspects of research—helping plan, organize, and conduct studies that deliver timely, actionable insights to product and business teams. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to improving the customer and associate experience across eCommerce, point-of-sale, onboarding, and internal tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Support day-to-day research activities in coordination with the Lead and support User Researcher to deliver timely, actionable insights.
Assist with participant recruitment, session scheduling, and preparation of research materials.
Capture detailed notes and observations during interviews, usability tests, and workshops.
Help compile and organize raw data for analysis and reporting. Develop and maintain the tagging taxonomy in a research repository, ensuring all research data is structured and organized for future context engineering and AI-driven insights.
Contribute to the creation and maintenance of research documentation, journey maps, and persona updates.
Support the execution of short-turnaround usability tests, surveys, and other tactical research activities.
Ensure research data is handled in compliance with the client’ privacy, accessibility, and ethics standards.
Ideal Candidate:
0–2 years of experience in UX research, research operations, or related field (internships, academic projects, or transferable experience welcome).
Familiarity with basic qualitative and quantitative research methods (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability testing).
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Comfort with note-taking, documentation, and data organization.
Ability to collaborate with researchers, designers, and product teams.
Proficiency with basic research tools (e.g., Google Meets, Miro, Excel/Sheets; exposure to UserTesting and or Dovetail a plus).
Interest in building a career in user research and growing skills through mentorship.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Hiring Requirements Summary:
0–2 years of experience supporting user research or similar activities.
Understanding of basic UX research processes and tools.
Ability to manage logistics and contribute to execution of research studies.
Comfortable collaborating in a hybrid/remote environment.
Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Interest in advancing UX maturity through tactical research contributions.
Candidates should be able to share examples (academic or professional) that demonstrate their ability to support research activities and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Top 3 Must Have Skills:
1. Qualitative Data Management: Proven ability to organize, tag, and synthesize qualitative data from interviews, usability tests, and other research methods. And an interest in the process of structuring and enriching data to make it more useful for AI.
2. User Research Fundamentals: Hands-on experience with foundational user research activities, including participant outreach and recruitment, and supporting usability tests.
3. Collaboration and Communication: Strong ability to work effectively within a team, taking direction and communicating clearly with researchers, data analysts, designers and product managers.
