JOB DESCRIPTION

Role Overview

Independently lead design initiatives within a defined product area. You are responsible for delivering high-quality, end-to-end user experiences while collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional partners.

Deliver production-ready design specifications to support engineering implementation

2. Interaction Design & Experience Quality

Design intuitive interaction patterns for moderately complex user flows

Develop clear information architecture for multi-step experiences

Use journey mapping and systems thinking to structure cohesive end-to-end experiences

Apply accessibility and inclusive design principles in day-to-day work

3. Collaboration & Product Integration

Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders in a cross-functional environment

Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, design reviews)

Communicate design decisions clearly, using user, business, and data rationale

Contribute to alignment and tradeoff discussions across teams

4. Problem Framing & Prioritization

Translate loosely defined problems into structured design approaches

Help define problem statements, not just execute solutions

Prioritize work based on user impact, business value, and feasibility

Balance speed and quality in an iterative delivery environment

5. Craft Growth & Team Contribution

Continuously improve design quality through feedback and iteration

Share work and best practices with the team

Contribute to team consistency through adoption of UX standards and processes

Provide guidance or informal mentorship to less experienced designers when needed

Scope & Impact

Owns individual features or initiatives within a product area

Works with moderate autonomy and limited oversight

Impacts product-level outcomes (not responsible for org-wide strategy)

Contributes to overall design quality and team effectiveness
