Job Description: Fleet TechnicianThe Vehicle Maintenance Technician is responsible to maintain this equipment to a safe and compliant standard and maintain comprehensive maintenance records.UNION Position client operates a diverse fleet of vehicles, trailers, and motorized equipment. Responsibilities:Duties include, but are not limited to:Perform preventative maintenance inspections on Company vehicles and equipmentPerform repairs to chassis and ancillary equipmentDiagnose and repair of complete drive-trainDiagnose and repair of AC and DC electrical systemsDiagnose and repair of hydraulic systemsMaintain paper and digital automotive equipment service recordsMay be required to perform additional duties and tasks as required by the CompanyRequired Skills & Qualifications:Must be proficient with computer, including but not limited to email, MS Excel, and MS Word.Must be proficient in locating online information and materials.Must possess good to excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be able to obtain a valid unrestricted California Commercial Driver's License, including Air Brake.If required at the assigned job site, must demonstrate proficiency in the operation of a vehicle equipped with standard (manual shift) transmission. License must be kept current as a condition of employment.Minimum 5 years’ experience. Class A or B CDL.Must possess a valid CA BAR Emissions Inspector AND Emission Repair Technician License at the time of appointment. License must be kept current as a condition of employment.Must possess an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Automotive or Master Medium/Heavy Truck certification. Certification must be kept current as a condition of employment.Must maintain a clean working environment and work with safety as a top priority.Must possess the ability to perceive difference in colors. Some form of ASE certification(s) or equivalent experience.Computer literacy (utilizing excel spreadsheets, outlook, and shop maintenance software.Certification Requirements-ASE Certification(s) preferredVIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
