Job Description


The client Video team is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting video solutions. The team partners with multiple city agencies to define requirements and deliver solutions that increase situational awareness for mission-critical first responders.

Technologies supported include:
IP cameras
Video management servers
Analytics
Networking
Access control

Job Summary
The Video Staging/Installation Technician supports a large video and license plate reader (LPR) deployment for mission-critical customers.

Responsibilities include:
Fabrication of video equipment
Programming & configuration
Inventory management
Collaboration with multiple internal and external teams

Key Responsibilities
Work with the lead client engineer to understand project requirements
Fabricate video equipment pods for final installation, including:
Installing equipment inside enclosures
Building and installing cabling for POD and cameras

Configure Linux/Windows-based computers for camera deployments
Configure PTZ/LPR cameras with basic settings prior to deployment
Manage, track, and consolidate project hardware inventory
Test programmed equipment to ensure it meets quality standards
Update and create project documentation
Provide onsite installation support as needed

Required Qualifications
Education: Two-year degree preferred or relevant experience

Experience
Experience with fixed and wireless network equipment
Experience with network video equipment and access controls
Technical troubleshooting experience
Experience with corporate communication tools (email, spreadsheets, word processors, presentation tools)
Experience configuring equipment via computer/laptop using documented procedures

Required Competencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and document solutions
Ability to create reference documentation when needed
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Experience with tools used in the telecommunications field

Nice-to-Have Skills
Strong verbal & written communication
Identified as a frequent gap in past new hires

Industry Experience
Preferred but not required
Must have some technology experience

Onsite work
Sit for 4+ hours

Work Schedule:
8 AM – 5 PM, but project & workload dependent
Requires flexibility
