Description:

Warehouse Material Specialist

SUMMARY:

Function: Execute floor and shipping activities related to a warehousing operation in Houston which supports industrial operations and activities by stocking strategic spare parts and operating consumables.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Safety:
o Promote a safe work environment and instill a strong safety culture.
o Work to achieve zero accidents, lost time incidents or recordable incidents by taking a leadership role in safety.

Physically Receive Incoming Material Shipments:
o Unload shipments.
o Inspect shipments for apparent damage and make notes on bill of lading accordingly.
o Inspect shipments for content accuracy and make notes on packing list accordingly.
o Place rejected shipments in designated quarantine area.
o Ensure incoming materials are properly and accurately labeled.
o Review calibration certificates (as applicable) for compliance and attach certificates to specific incoming materials.
o Stock accepted shipments in the warehouse.

Electronically Receive Incoming Material Shipments:
Fill Work Orders (Maximo Inventory Reservation Requests):
o Receive work order from National Warehouse Customer Service Representative or Administrator.
o Review and understand work order.
o Pick materials specified on work order from warehouse and stage in shipping area.
o Mark work order accordingly for picked or back ordered materials.
o Package materials for shipment.
o Generate shipping labels.
o Load outgoing material shipments.

Other Warehouse Activities:
o Maintain overall physical organization and cleanliness of warehouse.
o Manage material quarantine area and process.
o Assist in cycle counts and annual physical inventory of warehouses.
o Execute special projects on an as needed basis.

Savings:
o Identify and implement savings opportunities related to inventory purchases and shipments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
Operate forklift safely.

EDUCATION:

Required: High School diploma or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Two years experience in managing inventory/assets.

WORK CONDITIONS:
Industrial warehouse environment.




Experience with Oracle or SAP Preferred

Temp to Hire
Onsite 100%
Mon-Fri, 07:30am to 04:30pm (Sometimes on the weekends due to emergency calls)
forklift, combolift, scissorlift personal vehicle (to and from work)
15 to 20 ft (if they use the scissor lift)
