Job Description
Operations / System Specialist – EWM / Systems
We are seeking a hands-on Operations / System Specialist to support daily warehouse and distribution center activities while serving as the primary resource for system-related functions, including SAP EWM, Power BI, RFID technology, and SEPP. This role bridges operations and systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day execution, rapid issue resolution, and continuous improvement across all warehouse processes.
Focus: Someone with experience in Warehouse and SAP skills.
Key Responsibilities
EWM / Systems Support
Serve as the primary on-site expert for SAP EWM daily operations, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
Configure and maintain systems, including RFID guns, handhelds, and related warehouse technology.
Work closely with IT, Operations, and Supply Chain to identify and resolve system issues impacting workflow.
Maintain and improve system master data, process parameters, and user configurations.
Operations Support
Be actively present on the warehouse floor to understand operational challenges and translate them into system or process solutions.
Support receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and cycle count activities as needed.
Collaborate with supervisors and warehouse teams to ensure processes run efficiently and safely.
Reporting & Analytics
Develop dashboards and reports in Power BI to support performance tracking and operational decision-making.
Provide real-time and historical data insights to help improve accuracy, throughput, and productivity.
Support SEPP-related reporting and system updates.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate waste, and improve system effectiveness.
Recommend and implement enhancements to system functionality, process standards, and warehouse best practices.
Participate in continuous improvement projects, including layout optimization and automation opportunities.
Training & Support
Train new and existing employees—including both management and union workforce—on EWM, devices, and updated processes.
Create and maintain SOPs, quick reference guides, and training materials.
Act as a coach and resource to ensure consistent process adherence across shifts.
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in warehouse operations, supply chain, or distribution center systems support.
Hands-on experience with SAP EWM required; troubleshooting experience strongly preferred.
Experience with Power BI, RFID devices, and warehouse technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a floor-focused, practical mindset.
Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams, including union employees, supervisors, and management.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
Knowledge of LEAN/5S, continuous improvement, or warehouse optimization a plus.
