Job Description

Job Description:

  • The Wheel Rotary Machinist must be flexible to meet the business and customer’s needs, including frequently reworking expander and compression wheels to meet tight tolerances for Engineering and Customer needs. Attention to detail while safely working in a high speed manufacturing area is key for success in this role.

Highest Level of Education Required for this Position:

  • High School Diploma

Qualifications (IE SAP Experience, Excel Knowledge, Any Certifications, Years of Experience in Certain Fields):

  • Very experienced with basic tool use, high mechanical aptitude
  • Understanding of metal fabrication and machining
  • Ability to read engineering drawings to build products under a tight scope
  • Understanding of quality procedures and ISO requirements
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates and maintains balancing and spin test machines.
  • Performs highly sensitive work.
  • Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.
  • Ability to adapt tasks based on production needs.
  • Supports company OTD by alleviating bottlenecks with sensitive parts.
  • Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.
  • Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Maintains a safe and clean workstation.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  • Comfortable reworking defective or finishing of materials supplied by others.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing/assembly machining
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing procedures and processes
  • knowledge of machining operations
  • Self motivated and able to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform repetitive tasks
  • Familiar with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Ability to work effectively with teams in Engineering, Quality and HSE (Health, Safety and Environment)
  • Must be a Team player

Onsite

Work Schedule + Time Zone: 6:00AM-2:30PM

Est Hours Per Week: 40 Plus OT
