The role is intended for a hands-on production environment and requires daily operation of manufacturing equipment, adherence to process instructions, accurate documentation, and strong commitment to safety, quality, and work ethics.
The position supports potential conversion to full-time employment within one year. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, comfortable working on the production floor, and willing to learn specialized mechanical processing steps used in large-volume manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities
Operate production equipment on a daily basis to support mechanical processing and large-volume manufacturing activities.
Perform cutting, sectioning, and shaping operations using wire saws, ID saws, OD saws, and related production tools.
Support grinding, polishing, surface finishing, and post-processing of materials according to approved procedures.
Prepare, load, unload, clean, and maintain equipment and work areas to ensure safe and repeatable production flow.
Follow manufacturing processes, work instructions, inspection requirements, and process-control expectations.
Track samples, record process parameters, document deviations, and maintain accurate production records.
Work closely with process engineering, production, quality, and R&D teams to support process improvements, troubleshooting, and transfer of improved methods into routine manufacturing.
Follow EHS requirements, PPEr rules, material-handling procedures, and housekeeping standards in a production environment.

Required Qualifications
Hands-on experience or strong willingness to work in a production, manufacturing, machine-shop, laboratory, or technical processing environment.
Ability to operate equipment safely, follow detailed procedures, and maintain consistent attention to quality.
Good mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, attention to detail, and ability to perform repetitive precision-processing tasks.
Strong work ethic, reliability, commitment, and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment.
Ability to document work clearly and communicate issues promptly to supervisors or engineers.

Highly Desirable Skills
Experience with wire saws, ID saws, OD saws, grinding, polishing, lapping, cutting, surface finishing, or precision sample preparation.
Experience operating or supporting characterization equipment, optical inspection, dimensional inspection, or related measurement tools.
Familiarity with production documentation, sample tracking, EHS practices, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
