Description:Technical Writer IIExperience Required: 2–5 YearsPosition SummarySeeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and experienced Senior Technical Writer to own the documentation portfolio end-to-end. In this role, you will drive the entire content lifecycle, from requirements gathering and content planning through authoring, publishing, and long-term maintenance.The ideal candidate is customer-focused, highly collaborative, and passionate about creating clear, user-friendly technical content. This individual will work cross-functionally with Engineering, UX, Training, Support, and Marketing teams to deliver high-quality documentation that enhances the customer experience.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, write, and publish documentation for software and hardware releases, as well as new product introductions.Serve as the primary owner for assigned documentation portfolios, managing deliverables from inception through publication and maintenance.Create user-friendly technical documentation that prioritizes customer experience.Drive documentation improvements through cross-functional collaboration and influence.Improve processes and tools through creative problem-solving and teamwork.Identify, recommend, and champion new solutions to improve documentation quality and customer content experiences.Analyze documentation processes, tools, and deliverables to identify opportunities for improvement.Support the evolution of customer-first content strategies across the organization.Collaborate with Engineering, UX, Training, Support, and Marketing teams to align content with business objectives.Adapt to changing priorities and constraints while maintaining high-quality deliverables.Build consensus across teams and present business cases to leadership and stakeholders to drive strategic alignment.Support publishing, maintenance, and continuous improvement of technical content.Required QualificationsBachelor Degree in Communication or related field. 2–5 years of technical writing experience.Experience creating and publishing multiple types of technical documentation, including online content syndication.Strong proficiency with DITA XML authoring and associated workflows.Experience creating HTML-first documentation where each page functions as a standalone information resource.Ability to leverage AI tools to improve content quality, consistency, and efficiency.Experience building consensus and collaborating across multiple teams and business functions.Knowledge of Heretto CCMS or a similar component content management system.Experience using Jira and Confluence.Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently.Preferred QualificationsExperience creating documentation for new product offerings that previously lacked technical writing support.Strong customer advocacy mindset with a focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences through technical content.Demonstrated success driving process improvement initiatives.Experience with Git-based source control.Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.Understanding of automation tools and processes to improve efficiency and scalability.Key CompetenciesTechnical Writing & DocumentationDITA XML AuthoringContent StrategyCustomer Experience FocusCross-Functional CollaborationProcess ImprovementContent Management SystemsStakeholder ManagementProblem SolvingAI-Enabled Content DevelopmentMust-Have QualificationsExperience with Dita authoring tools, specifically Oxygen XML and Heretto are what we use, but similar tools would have transferable skills.A degree or certificate in technical writing, professional writing, English or Communications would be great, but not required if the candidate has relevant experience instead.Software ProficiencyOxygen XMLHerettoGoogle suite (Gmail, docs, sheets, etc.)Google Gemini or similar AI toolsJira and Confluence would be great tooRequired Experience LevelMid-level2–3 years of experience or more if possibleNotes:
