Job DescriptionManufacturing Technician I – ContingentPosition SummaryManufacturing Technicians are responsible for manufacturing, assembly and/or packaging of medical device products. Manufacturing Technicians will be trained and follow standard operating procedures, environmental health and safety guidelines and any other related regulations which could apply to the specific job. Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) will be followed during the manufacturing of our medical devices and associated device documentation. Equipment used by the Manufacturing Technician will depend on the specific job.Essential Job DutiesPerform one or more functions on the assembly lines including but not limited to:o washing components or equipmento wrapping components and or equipment for sterilizationo assembly or gluing of componentso packaging and sealing of deviceso preparing devices for sterilizationo final packaging or labeling of productsPerform daily cleaning of the production area to maintain in GMP fashion.Operate general production equipment (sealers, autoclave, stir plates, etc.)Receive and distribute supplies into the production area as necessary.Adhere to all safety protocols and wear proper safety gear at all times while on the manufacturing or warehouse floorMaintain reliable attendanceLearn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)Complete required training in a timely mannerPerform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications/CertificationsHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalentPrior manufacturing experience is preferred not required for this entry level roleMust have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team membersUnderstand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words in English and drawingsMust be able to perform basic mathematicsWork EnvironmentMay require work in a clean room environment wearing special garments and PPE (e.g. scrubs, hair bonnets, frocks, hoods, masks, gloves, safety glasses) based on the Class level for each Clean Room.Overtime may be required at times.Some job duties may be performed on a rotating basisPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit or stand for minimum of 8 hours, with breaks provided throughout the shiftMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds individually or up to 65 pounds as part of a team lift.Occasional pushing of carts with product or containers of solutionsOccasional pulling of carts with product or containers of solutionsRepetitive hand motionRequires frequent object handlingRequires frequent fine hand coordination.Requires frequent simple hand grasping.Requires frequent firm hand grasping.Requirement of 20/25 vision (with or without corrective lenses)Notes:Monday – Thurs 5am – 3:30pm and Friday 6am – 2:30, so approximately 8 hours of OT each week.As overtime eases up, the normal schedule would be Mon – Fri 6am – 2:30pmVIVA is an equal opportunity employer.
